The primary motivation for Amina Wadud accept the invitation to lead a mix-gender prayer service was to bring before the world the injustice that the community does to the women which God does not allow. While praying every person is directly praying to god but in the mosque in reality men are allowed to prayer in the frontline while women are told to stand at the back lines or the basement or the attic and in many cases they are not allowed in mosques only. Therefore, she wanted to do this to ensure that the religion does not forbid women to lead the prayer even though it has not been mentioned explicitly in Quran.
